You do realize the market has been in the dumps since the start of the month? There are a multitude of reasons why people are selling down - capital protection, profit taking, tax loss selling or simply shifting funds elsewhere.
As to your speculation about the companies ability to meet stated claims - I don't see anything odd or untoward. Directors buying in is a show of confidence IMO.
