Oh, and by the way, the ore that paid for this pit to be excavated is going 0.6% Cu which is equivalent to 0.8g/t Au. BBX's grades from results to date are 50 times that.
Chuquicamata is the world's largest open pit at 4.3km long, 3km wide and almost 1km deep. You can see them mining a cutback half way down left of centre. The ore reserves of the underground mine are 1.7Bt grading 0.7% Cu.
