You can say that, and some are true, but you are wrong overall. The loophole has been used on many occasions, and the ASX lets it slide because completing the order with anonymity is a decent argument. If I remember where I last saw one, I'll let you know, but the point is- its possible.
I know a substantial individual holder in VPC who's never declared there +5%. I rang ASIC myself, and all they said was "we're aware". No consequences. I may be mistaken on a point "technically", but you're wrong on every point in the real world.
As I said, it's fun speculation, not my belief...but its possible. I haven't heard any other explanations for this volume sub wholesale. GL
