Harmony Gold is next door and pulling out >100k oz and the area has been mined previously until shuttered 15 odd years ago. South Africa needs jobs and has a proactive administration now after US$100bn in FDI to kick start the recovery - so the timing is right and mining has to be a shoe in to create jobs. West wits already are mining and as long as they can demonstrate excellent environmental rehab, ensure strong stakeholder engagement with local communities, and follow the necessary due process, then the its hopefully all good news from here as we role into the next quarter.
