If you did your research you would see the "experts" predicted electric vehicles would take off in "5 years" 15 years ago and every 5 years we get the same prediction, the latest is self driving vehicles, that has been for the last 10 years now and Zip nothing so far, 15 years of electric vehicles has been very disappointing so far and now Elon Musk has gone cray cray which has people second guessing whether this will ever gain traction, high oil prices will help, the higher the better for EV's............oh we are 5 years away from main stream space travel too LOL.
Here's my prediction (for 5 years LOL).........the first person to make a successful Electric Vehicle non diesel commercial range of vehicles at a competitive price will do well, I see that as the true test in EV success quite frankly.
But if you are using coal fire polluting power stations it really makes no sense, such as in Australia, you really need a strong renewable energy culture or a country like France powered by nuclear for it to make sense.
