Yes I agree with you Westmount. I work in an industry where we have to be very competitive against import competition or we do not get the thoughput for economies of scale to make our operation viable. We certainly wouldn't be selling our products at the prices we do if we didn't have that level of import competition. The strategy to use low priced milk to attract customers into the shops is a crazy situation where we have a great industry being smashed for no reason. This is lose/lose situation bought on by poorly thought though strategies believing that anyone is going in win in the long term when no one wants to be dairy farmer in Australia.
