“On Saturday afternoon, the leak occurred in tunnel one (TBM Grace tunnel) approximately 200m north of Forrestfield Station.
The leak occurred around an emergency cross passage adjacent to Dundas Road, which led to the formation of a sinkhole early on Sunday morning and closure of the road.
A cross passage is a throughway to connect the two tunnels to be used as an emergency exit once the rail line is operational.
The leak has caused 10 tunnel rings near the point of the cross passage to move prompting additional internal bracing to be put on place as work continues to stop the leak and resolve the sinkhole damage.....”
What is FAL to us commercially :
I stand corrected on my estimation of the value of FAL last year a few posts up ...it is not $150 million !.
This from the Financial Report :
“As noted above results for the Civil business include activity on the FAL contract where NRW is a 20% shareholder in the Salini Impregilo NRW Joint Venture delivering the project. Revenues on the project included in the segment revenue above but excluded from Statutory revenue were $68.9 million. Earnings recognised in the year which are shown in share of profits from associates total $1.8 million and reflect progress made to date on the project.”
