Hi @Jen7575 and @bladder and all WBTers,
I hope you are well and thanks for tagging me and showing some interest in the broker data .
You will have to forgive me for the long post and musings. To be honest, i have never felt compelled to look at the broker data for a stock before and i am no expert in broker firms or who they represent.
My idea was to try and get a feel for how many of the escrowed shares had been sold and how many more we could expect to see hit the market. It would be nice to know . This is why i ask for the data from 3/8/2018, the date the escrowed shares were released. Unfortunately, at the moment i do not have enough information to work anything out. So i apologise for not being able to contribute much.
So what can we learn from the broker data shown? Not much from me, unless someone else can shed some light and knowledge here. I can see that 'FinClear Execution Ltd' is the only standout seller on the list. I say standout as they have sold 38.8 million shares and basically purchased nothing. So i am guessing that they represent one or more of the escrowed shareholders. I was hoping this volume would be higher considering 166.6 million shares have changed hands since the shares were released. This leads me to believe that maybe the escrowed share sellers are represented by more than one broker...OpenMarkets, Bell Potter, Commsec? as in my opinion (guessing here) 2/3 of the 166 million turn over must at least be escrow shares.
So where to from here...I emailed the company and asked for a copy of the latest top 20 shareholders so i could compare with the previous top 20 lists of 2017 & 2016 and work out who was selling and how many they had left. I was nicely told that i could either view it in Perth (not an option as i am in Melbourne ) or purchase it for $250+GST. I was also informed that the updated top 20 will come out in the Annual report due at the end of October (quote 'but will likely be released earlier') so i have decided to wait and see if i can join a few dots together then. I will post my thoughts when the time comes if you like.
Hopefully we will all be rewarded for our patience. The Boags Premium will be on me.
All in my humble opinion. Have a great week.
Cheers Mustard
