If you think Vocus is going to outperform the sector in the long term, but expect the sector to bounce up and down (as it has), you might make equivalent to a CFD (contract for difference), when Vocus gets close to a benchmark you decide to sell, and if it gets a logn way away you buy.

Its a floating price target that had factored in sector reweighing.

Because Telstra market cap is so much bigger than ours, and dominates the sector, it can easily be the benchmark.

If you look at the graphs i have posted with VOC/TLS i think in practice thats what has been happening.
