I can think of one scenario where those buying these options right now for this price, may look real smart in the future?

Can you just imagine the mad rush to buy these options? if TAS decided in say six months, to do the Tim Borham thing, of an in-speccie distribution of their holding in EDE where they say for instance, on such and such a date any TAS shareholder will be allocated one EDE share for every TAS share they own?

There would be mad rush for the options and a rush to convert also, a really good deal for TAS and it's shareholders, if the options weren't exercised they will miss out on the EDE share, but they could still convert afterwards I suppose? but I know which I would prefer!
