Filming of staged chemical attack in Syrian Idlib begins - Russian MoD, page-9

The continued BS from Putin's  misinformation campaign is  breathtaking and never-ending notwithstanding plenty of commentary that the Idlib campaign is on hold.

The apparent reality is that Turkey is continuing to supply the rebels within Idlib and is making an effort to rebrand Turkey aligned Al Qaeda (HTS) splinter groups as more "moderate".

Will the various HTS splinter groups and other groups fight it out against each other as Putin, Erdogan, Rouhani and Assad want?  I don't know the answer to that one.  In the meantime Turkey is proposing its own proxies to sit on some form of constitutional committee with Assad's Iranian proxy  representatives.  Presumed proxy flunkies or not I can't actually see that group agreeing on anything for long because the caverns are too deep.

How will this run?  Nobody knows for sure but maybe we will see the current war of internal attrition, kidnapping and assassination continue in Idlib with the Damascus Government taking some territory but otherwise holding back.  We should remember that Putin's primary goal is an strategic alignment with Turkey and that no external political body really cares about Idlib, North Aleppo or Afrin.
