I am rather new to this discussion and may not have a handle on all the issues. Is there a problem with the PHES, which appears to be a genuine cash cow given the current energy debate, if mining were to take place below the large pit or utilise the wall of the big pit for underground access? On the surface it would appear that filling the pit with water for the PHES would rule out mining in East and Central Kavanagh, Nugent and Spitfire.
