I'm not sure how it all works, can't see how the cost saving from this can come even close to BOD salaries, but people who had less than $500 worth of shares could have paid $2500 to over $5000 for them depending on when they bought. If the share price suddenly goes back up to 2 cents or more, the company will have profited nicely from these small parcels.
