It as always been a ruse to get people out of SMSF's and into industry or other pooled funds. They don't like you controlling your own money and there and no kick backs if you do. The rort thing they push doesn't stack up, as the rort they describe is fully available by changing vehicle ( but this will also mean handing over control of your money). Essentially the taxation of super for 2 people with the same balance and similar investments will become a two-tier system based on whether you wish to control your own destiny or hand it over to the union/corporates and their vested interests and fees.
