For Western Australian's and WA-based companies, Goldfields (with a capital G) is a geographic descriptor. It's basically anything on what geologists call the Wiluna/Norseman greenstone belt, which runs from Wiluna in the north to Norseman in the south and is bounded by Southern Cross in the west to Kal in the East.
The international company is Gold Fields Ltd (note 2 words, not one).
