Thanks Sharks - I’ve actually dedicated around 10 hours per day so it was not all natural by coincident.
I’ve spent all day on Monday to build and trying to understand the master trail switch.
Then Tuesday started the trend trading model and some trial and error - worth noting the count ‘n’ bar video posted by Eddie is incorrect so had to figure another way to count to make it work.
Yesterday all about optimization including in sample and out sample periods - I reckon this is the hardest part as we’re trying to avoid curve fitting. Whilst you can get fantastic result on in-sample period, when you apply on out-sample period the result would look crap.
Today I’m working on refining the breakout model and whilst the result is better than my previous version but I’ve noticed it breaks down in 2018 so some investigation to be done here.
I’d definitely recommend to build the master trail switch first before any testing as it’d saved a lot of testing time easily. Hard work at front but easy testing at later stage.
I’m also wondering if we should start a different thread just for EA coding - wouldn’t want to flood the thread with all testings as well.
