Yes, it's waste matter separated from metals during the smelting or refining of ore.
Now if they can extract the gold from the slag as it appears they can because they publish a "total gold grade" based on the grade of "Rock" and the grade of "slag" then doesn't that make the term slag redundant!!! They can extract the gold full stop!!!! Who cares if they call it rock or slag. If you can extract the gold from the "slag" the residue after that is actually the slag. ie the waste matter created after extraction of the metals. Frankly none of it is making sense to me. If they can extract metal buttons from the "slag" they done it, haven't they???????? Esh
