A1 GP and UEFA Euro 2008 to be distributed by destra
March 27, 2008: destra Corporation (ASX: DES) is expanding its sport content offering with the licensing of additional content for distribution across DVD and a number of its internet sites.
Exclusive multi year content licensing deals with A1 Grand Prix Motor racing and UEFA Euro 2008 (European Football Championships) will provide destra’s Visual Entertainment Group division with content to distribute through retailers such as Big W, Target, Kmart, JB HI-FI, Sanity and in the case of the A1GP and several other niche sporting entities, through online websites including Big Pond and iTunes.
Domenic Carosa, destra Corporation CEO says, “This deal is in line with our overall strategy to acquire content that can be distributed via our existing physical and digital channels. These content licences further reinforce destra’s position as the number one sports DVD distributor in Australia.�
The UEFA Euro 2008 championship occurs every 4 years and is one of the biggest sporting events on the global calendar, this year’s event is also supported by several ancillary programs for DVD release.
