A false market is better than no market at all. In some low liquidity stocks the spread gets so large that retail investors are prevented from buying or selling into an open market bid or ask because if they do the stock could fall by more than a specific range 20-25%??. So ASX market integrity rules are evoked which force the buy or sell to test (discover) the market at lower prices for a buy and higher prices for sell to prevent big price slippages or spikes. I’m actually not in favour of these rules but they are designed to protect investors. The brokers/bots who we are always complaining about putting in these one or two share bot trades are in some instances only providing bridges across the spread to allow for more orderly trading of the stock. I’m not saying this is what is necessarily happening with PEX but just something to think about.Esh
