Yes, the school is out whether hydrogen or electric (which is why I invest in Lithium miners) will power vehicles, maybe they will converge, just a small fuel cell or generator to top up batteries. The Hyundai hydrogen concept car has a range of over 500km.
But the point is splitting water to make hydrogen from sunlight or wind can fill in the gaps when they cant produce electricity, so you have sustainable 24/7 green power for any use. So it may be a hydrogen powered generator recharging and electrical vehicle at a refuelling station at night or powering the local neighbourhood after dark for that matter. The key to getting very difficult to handle and store hydrogen from A to B is via Ammonia (NH3) which is already on of the most transported commodities worldwide, with no more accidents or toxicity pro-rata than oil and gas, also both very toxic, explosive and volatile commodities. And now it can be easily converted back to hydrogen at the point of use, maybe even on the fly within a vehicle as you only need 140PSI to keep NH3 liquid. The advances in both battery technology, water splitting and hydrogen storage utilising NH3 over the past few months has been breathtaking, heralding a paradigm shift in energy that creates a massive gap for GSL to fill as they can potentially feed this unfolding revolution with the cheapest power.
