Correlation of mapped data with topography doesn't always give you perfectly flat (and accessible) ground to work with. Also.....there could be many factors in determining speed to drill. Weather and season is a compelling one in this instance from the looks of things. Once you have the "thaw" and everything becomes bogged....you're stuffed...so for my 2 cents worth ........speed is key...........
