When some European countries, Holland in particular, refused to allow Erdogan to campaign on their turf prior to the vote on constitutional reform which was to take Turkey closer to dictatorship, tighten Erdogan's grip on power and result in thousands of liberals, including many teachers and journalists being thrown into prison, he called for muslims already living in Europe to have more muslims children to out populate Europe, and for muslims to prioritize muslim businesses in their financial dealings. Effectively, he declared both demographic and economic war on Europe. This is highly instructive into the man's character and motivations as well as the vulnerability posed by the mass immigration and open borders policies being followed by the EU and Germany in particular. Personally, I would like to see Erdogan's demise as soon as possible and Turkey return to the path of secularism started by Kemal Ataturk after WW1. I actually take a special interest in Turkey because as an ESL teacher I have taught many, many Turkish students and they are very likeable students, and the current mob, who are mostly enlightened, just raise their eyebrows in despair when I mention Erdogan's name. Erdogan is a prime example of a situation in which the forty-foot pole strategy should be strictly adhered to.
