"...when you have the time or care enough to indulge us, do you have any overseas exposure? Why/why not?"

Simple:

1. I live in Australia, and my living expenses are incurred in Australia.

2. I understand Australia: the make-up of the economy, the competitive landscape, the the legislative framework, the people, the culture, the climate, the geography, the political risks, the issues, and - importantly - the way Australian investors and financial institutions think and operate.

3. There are some 2,400 stocks listed on the stock exchange; of those, probably 200 are of investment grade. 200 stocks is more than enough for me to follow, considering I also want to sleep, engage with my family, walk the dog, play some golf, read, and generally goof off a bit.

Why people want, for their investment kicks, to go to far flung geographies of the world, where they are at an information disadvantage, escapes me.

If - at any given point in time - you can't find an undervalued investment opportunity on the ASX, then you aren't looking properly, I don't think.
