The rise of tunnels does seem to be on both global and national agendas ( they would presumably represent the ‘long night’s journey into day’ aspect of “the infrastructure boom cometh” .).... but it seems for contractors it’s a punishing arena with plenty of drama :

This has to be added to other cautions like the new AASB 15 accounting rules ( tougher thresholds for construction companies recognising revenues and costs) competiton in the field , increased computerisation and autonomy by the big companies a la Kooaideri....
