On the investor call this morning the MD and CFO went to some lengths to discuss the reducing fee margin and explained how they were more than covering its impact by reducing costs particularly in IT and Consultant costs.
At no time did the MD and/or CFO allude to fee erosion being at an end.
I was heartened when an analyst asked about the ANZ business performance in the June Quarter and the response that there had been no deterioration. In acquisitions it is very common, unfortunately, for significant performance deterioration in the acquiree due to a whole host of factors especially staff insecurity.
Chris Kellaher is a class act and a steady hand on the tiller in the current kangaroo court environment.
