Lots of random speculation and a bit of fear-mongering with this stock lately. Unless I've missed something, have they actually rattled the tin in shareholders' direction? I certainly haven't been approached. Which, if the company was desperate for cash and struggling to raise it, I think I would be, along with pretty much everyone else with any kind of stake in CIO.
Given the nature of their business and the other balls in the air with the old gold "asset", I'm not surprised they've hit the pause button while sorting out the capital raising. Could by myriad reasons behind that. Maybe they're waiting/hoping to lock a deal before proceeding.
You'd think if they're just approaching "sophisticated" investors or others to tap some capital that there might be a bit of haggling on the best way to go about it, or what sweeteners may be offered. I'm happy to wait and see (not that we really have any other option).
I don't see any reason to be belting the panic button, though.
