I actually think of the opposite and that is why I started buying over the last few weeks. Typically a company like Nearmap in its current growing phase will start to see accelerated growth in its next few years. For me I strongly believe its USA revenue will start jumping impressively in the next few quarters.

For an investor, this stage of growth is very important for investment. If September quarter is as I expected (USA ACV of around $18mil, along with continued AUS revenue growth), sp will be above $2 and from there we can expect its sp will continue to increase further and further through each quarter. I like its business, I like its first-mover advantage and its high gross margin of %81. I like its easy scalability and its technical aspect which seems not easy for new competitors to enter.

I also expect that once its USA ACV hits above $20mil-$25mil management will start announcing its entry into Mexico or Canada or UK market to keep it ahead of competitors. Market grab for Nearmap in near future is very strategically important to secure its long term growth and I hope we will hear about its expansion into new markets soon after Sep or Dec quarter report. In fact, I think management must have new-market expansion plans on the drawing board right now. As I said, market grab at this stage is strategically important.

The comfort fact about Nearmap is that it has been operating for over 10 years long in Australia and its business has a proven track record and has worked well here in Australia. USA market potential is more than 10 times bigger than here in Australia and USA business starts showing sign of gaining traction and will accelerate in the coming quarters I strongly believe.

Shorting was only a meagre 3.3% yesterday. So, it seems someone wanted to reduce their holdings yesterday and also today. Once they are done with their selling today or tomorrow, I think sp will increase again. That's my take on it anyway.
