July 19 (Reuters) - The Australian competition regulator said on Thursday it had instituted proceedings in the federal court against rail operators Pacific National and Aurizon (AZJ) over the proposed sale of Aurizon's freight business.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said it was seeking pecuniary penalties, as well as orders restraining Pacific National from acquiring Aurizon's Acacia Ridge Terminal and Queensland intermodal business.
