Perhaps Gasmere needs the money to keep building on its 23% stake in Copper Strike (CSE). Gasmere has been pursuing this seemingly quixotic quest for a number of years, with monthly or two monthly "trips to the well".
In any case, as you say, if Gasmere is out, whatever the reason, that should be the overhang done.
