As for patents, it's instructive to read the 'Risk' section of the analysis. Yes, Audinate's current patents may be ending in 2030, but don't forget the people in the company don't sit on their arses twiddling their thumbs, to mix my metaphors. There will progressive improvements to Dante and Audinate's other offerings and therefore new patents granted, but most of all, as mentioned elsewhere, once you've bought into Dante Domain Manager, it will be hard to disengage from the platform (for one, as the AV person in the organisation, he/she wouldn't want to sit through training modules of a new system when they are already familiar with the de facto industry standard operating system).
