Giralia Resources NL (ASX:GIR) has reported further significant iron ore intersections from new assays received from initial RC drilling at the company's 100 per cent-owned Western Creek iron ore project near Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The company has received assay results for a further seven holes (total received now 26) of 35 RC holes completed to date testing direct extensions to BHP Billiton's Silver Knight iron ore deposit at Western Creek.
Earlier holes returned low phosphorous iron ore intersections including RCWC017; 42 metres @ 59.1pc Fe, and RCWC018; 44 metres @ 58.4pc Fe (including 28 metres @ 60.4pc Fe).
Further thick zones of near-surface direct shipping iron ore hosted by the Marra Mamba Formation were returned in the latest batch of results.
Results received to date are considered to be very encouraging, with holes RCWC016 to RCWC024 inclusive interpreted to define a shallowly dipping, continuous block of iron ore mineralisation up to 50 metres thick, and open to the west, south and east."" end of report.
