Maybe because their customers wanted the deals to close next quarter? And as a prudent CEO, he put the needs of the customers and the business first, and conservatively gave the market an update...even if that might upset a few permabears on HotCopper? You think AVA customers judge their security requirements based on the CFO's forecasting ability?
To me, being more of a glass half full guy, it seems sensible to get the bad news out of the way, so the market can move past it and respond to good news in the future.
