I attended a 3 day acid sulphate soil seminar in Townsville in 1999 put on by Col Ahern. The Qld Acid Sulphate Soil team were leading researchers in the area during the late 90’s. I was analysis soils for a few years around that time.

I find it extremely unlikely that you could use treated PASS as a capping material. Capping materials are usually clay as they have to be non porous. Most ASS are fine silts which are porous. Not to mention the risk of further oxidation. Maybe we should email the EPA and ask if treated ASS can be used as a capping material and pass on Punters example?
