Certainly some positives to take away from that announcement considering only 1st pass AC drilling namely:
- Gold mineralisation (albeit quite anomalous) confirms the model for the previously identified alteration halo's and the potential for continuity of fertile ground along strike from GOR's Corkwood prospects.
-Breccias and vuggy quartz with sulphides are indicative of hydrothermal fluid flow and the potential pathway's for mineralisation.
- Identification of possible isoclinal folding means they have some potential structural/stratigraphic trap sites for mineralisation.
- Indicative retrograde metamorphism means likely preservation of any mineralised zone within the sheer zone.
Follow up now will likely be infill AC drilling within the identified anomalous areas which will determine further targets for deeper RC drill holes, they already have a fair indication of where to target however so would expect at least a few RC holes in the next round of drilling. Still nothing to get too excited about just yet, when they crack out the combo RC and Diamond Drills you know they have some juicy targets to home in on.
Now back to the waiting game, it would have been nice to have some clear timelines regarding completing the remaining 16,000 metres of the 23,000m program. I thought this part of the announcement was quite vague regarding this:
Based on these results and the fact that the drill targets have already been identified I thought they would be straight back into it on the other drill targets. This would at least maintain continuity of news flow while CSA Global are refining follow up targets from Stage 1 drilling. Based on the program just undertaken we are looking at around 3 months before we see the next round of assays from the Stage 1 targets, some more news flow between now and then would at least contribute somewhat to starting to get rid of the CR overhang.
