I imagine the comments you may have read were probably just pointing out the strategic reality that the US has no right to demand other countries denuclearise, when the US will never denuclearise. Fair's fair, and what makes the US the boss of the world anyway? I put it to you that the US (particularly under Trump) has very little moral authority to tell anyone what to do.
