Looking at the top twenty a few minutes ago and it appears that the list has not been adjusted for the share offer recently completed. I’m not sure that the 97% figure is accurate; however, we do know that the top twenty hold a very large portion of the shares on issue. The two views on this depending if you are a glass half full or half empty, are one it’s a very tightly held stock or a very illiquid stock. Of course, you understand how the negative inuendo and others that missed out view the stock and they keep raising the issue as a problem.
Personally, I don’t see this as a problem, the top twenty names on the list have remained static for a few years now and appear to be prepared to hold onto their stock until mining is commenced.
There could be as little as 5% of the shares in free play and that is probably the reason the share price has been relatively static around the 18-20 cent level. Once the environmental licence is granted and the trial mining plant is up and running we may see more interest in the company.
Don’t forget the only people that know much about this company are the current holders and a few posters on HC to the best of my knowledge very little has been done to promote this company in any official manner. I don’t believe any brokers have made any site visits or that any presentations have ever been made to any brokerage houses. I can recall one article from The Australian that sited the opinion of a Mr Warwick Grigor and that was hardly glowing in it’s content. Not that his opinion counts for much given his current record as a mining analyst and investor.
The technicalities in the past have also been a little difficult for the bods down at the ASX to understand; however, I believe even they now are starting to comprehend what the company is achieving in the Brazilian rain-forest.
I’m sure that Jeff and the boys continue to work hard to improve the extraction process and progress the ongoing exploration. Once the trial mining is producing metals that can be quantified and we have some solid results then it may possibly be a suitable time to start some official company promotion. However, that is merely my opinion, some may feel we should continue to keep this one of the best kept secrets in the precious metals exploration sector.
If I have learned anything from my many years around exploration and mining, it is that things always take longer to happen than one may wish for and therefore great patience is required. Of course, one should always be mindful of the risks in this market sector, personally in this case I see the risk reward ratio well within my limits.
Cheers and very best regards: Andy
