You raise some good points HB.

But maybe look at it from another perspective.

Say this is your own personal business - unlisted. Conduct an analysis of the business and, if you really need to bring in the fact that there is no debt, just assume that you have sold a portion of the business to another partner.

If your analysis shows that there are problems I would sell out quickly and move on - ie minimise losses?

If your analysis shows that it is a great business in the making - disregard the sp - it will ultimately take care of itself.
