Have just been reading a bit about guidance for autonomous vehicles. Don't know if Nearmap are exploring this area, but if not, maybe they should. Currently there is no standard for such mapping , but ideally it should be at 7-10cm accuracy. Nearmap would be close to that.
First mover seems to be MobilEye, an Israel based company that has recently been purchased by Intel for US$15.5b. They have already developed partnerships with BMW, Volkswagen and Nissan, though other companies are proceeding independently.
Anyone seen any reference to Nearmap and autonomous vehicle guidance?

And TomTom is a Nearmap customer because Nearmap’s aerial images are more up to date than most street maps so through TomTom, Nearmap is also playing a big part in the autonomous vehicle industry.
