So the Journey continues.
April 1981 STO closes close to $13.00.
April 1991 STO closes at just over $2.00
April 2001 STO closes at $5.40
June 2008 STO closes at over $17.00.
June 2018 STO looks to be heading to around $5.00.
Jan 1981 saw BHP at around $1.00 it got to $45.00 then settled back in the mid 20s for a few years and now is up over $30.00 perhaps on it's way back to $45.00 no one knows.
NAB, WBC,CBA,ANZ have all done the same thing. All our Blue Chips have been on their knees from time to time.
Would one be better to purchase BHP for a dollar or for $45.00. The people looking for a quick buck are Quick to race in at $45.00, they think they will miss out. The ones that paid a couple of dollars are sitting in their top floor apartments in George Street.
Not only did STO survive $30.00 oil, the company grew, it paid back massive debt, it secured new oil/gas reserves,it had a huge wash out of management whom had been there too long. It turned it's back on a $4.48 bid from Linda, it went on to turn it's back on a $7.00 bid from Linda,It sent Linda and her plane load of Nodders packing. Mark my words, she will be back,Harbour want STO, they need STO, if it's not Linda it will be the Chinese( god forbid) .
I am not against STO being sold, I am against STO being sold for nothing to foreign interests whom have no affiliation whatsoever with the people that have supported STO since the old days.
STO has had Capitol Raisings, Stock Dilution,Mud Thrown all over it,investors and Media referring to it as a bad dog. Then once it got to $5.50 every one loved it, all the way to $7.00 now it's a bad dog again.
It's all part of the Journey to Blue Chip Status, a stock price of over $20,00, a healthy dividend twice a year with franking credits(as long as the commos don't get rid of them) ( the credits I mean)
Congratulations to the management team for their most recent performance with Harbour.
You effectively were able to secure an Audit free of Charge which valued STO at 14 billion big ones.
That" a far cry from the worth of the company in 1991.
Go you bad dog.
