Spec, put it back in that uni degree context. Most uni degrees are 3 years, double degrees 5 years. During that time zero income from the profession which the degree provides entry into, and no guarantee to get a job in that profession unless you've been pretty good at uni and/or you're good at interviews, or connected, etc. Certainly they don't expect a paying job and an income in that profession after 2 years of a 3-5 year education. And finally, once they get that degree, if they get a job, they start at entry level.
Most students accept that equation, so why shouldn't we? I know from experience having gotten 2 degrees that part way through you usually feel like when will it ever end and that illusive job seems like years away, but the time passes and eventually you get there. Eyes on the prize my friend...as they say.
Cheers, Sharks
