Not so sure about that.

The impression I had was that they couldn't or wouldn't work with Hoffman or anybody who supported him, and since Archie had supported them and fought with Hoffman and then been ousted then it was natural to want him restored. But the crux of the problem was Hoffman's leadership which they said "he didn't deserve".

I don't doubt that if the confocal endomicroscopy becomes a hit CZM will want a bigger say in the technical and manufacturing side. If it earns good money then they will want to improve it, add more leds, provide support, lower manufacturing costs... all the usual stuff.
