I could only agree with that Sarg. Peel has never been considered a trading situation for me.

There is only 3 reasons i may contemplate selling out of Peel over the next 12 months.

    1. If the price moved to a point that it became so compelling to do so.

2.If a takeover bid was launched & the offer was too good to refuse. Or a compulsory acquisition point was reached.

3.Bill Shorten was looking likely to win the next election & he was still wanting to slash the capital gains tax discount. At the moment it is hard to get detail on exactly what he is proposing. Whether existing assets will be grandfathered under the existing rate or if it will be retrospective. If his proposal takes the form of a halving of the 50% discount & applying that to existing financial securities then that would see me sell out.

It is going to be be very interesting to see whether a larger company would look to acquire Peel & exactly what form it would take. Personally i cant see a hostile bid being launched. Too many large holders. I think it would likely be via an agreed trade sale type situation. Where all the large holders have already negotiated to a price point they are happy with.
