Found another nice example of junior finding a big, high grade deposit, although it's much smaller and the grade's much lower than Tres Estados and Ema and it's 200m deep. Aurelian's SP went from 30 cents to $43 in 9 months!

Some of the Fruta del Norte intercepts are listed below along with the the best high grade intercepts in the world, and guess what? We're on that list now at #8 with a 50m hole averaging 53g/t.

Final Thoughts:
If we ever wonder why we speculate in gold—other than the pleasures of actual prospecting for both the small and large miner—the story of Aurelian Resources is a lesson in the kind of rewards that can accrue to the successful prospector, investor or speculator.

Aurelian was formed in early 2002 when it went public at 30 cents per share with their main asset being an exploration property in Ecuador. For four years, the shares remained dormant when suddenly, in April 2006, they announced assay results for this year’s drilling program at the Fruta del Norte property. The assay results proved “Fruta”ful indeed and the share price began to shoot skyward.

Within six months, Aurelian was trading at over forty dollars per share—a gain of over ten thousand percent compared to the original offering price.

Great find Midnight!
I like the chart below that was spruiked in the early days of the discovery,well before the BIG run .I wonder how many of those initial investors were able to ride the big run?

At the time of the BIG run there were only 33 million shares on issue and an eventual market cap of just north of a billion.
In the above chart was gold having risen in 2003 to $417.25
At the time of the BIG run, gold topped at $ 635.70 and was in a bear market.
Gold now at $1290 would suggest that if Aur hit its straps now its market cap would be some $2 billion.
....but who knows what the price of gold will be in a years time?....and what if gold was in a bull market and sentiment running high?
