Not because I am vindicated - I couldn't give a damn about that - but because this will increase IFN's returns from power generated.
The battery will end voltage fluctuations vis-a-vis contracted/bid as wind rises and falls. No more discount.
And if output exceeds contract, it has an alternative use.
The battery is small at 25MW/52MWh relative to the 278Mw Lake Bonney kit, yet it will more than fund itself. IFN can always add more capacity later - even at a different site.
Brilliant.
"Infigen said the battery technology was not yet chosen." Means it doesn't have a place in the long order queue at every respectable battery manufacturer. That part is not good - it could be many many months before install. The planning application looks straightforward.
