I can't see any suggestion in today's announcement that handing back Karoo is an option. Nor is its sale from what I can gleen from the announcement.
It's also not a 'zero value asset' as we've inherited the rehabilitation costs associated with it. Hopefully these costs can be supported by the sale of assets from the project or it will end up being a negative value asset.
All this of course ignores the gorilla in the room... $50 million dollars owed to Areva for the initial purchase.
