First of all please read this Bloomberg article:

We all know that nuclear plants are a great baseload generator. I am also aware that their output can be varied though the use of control rods to increase/decrease the extent of the nuclear reactions taking place and hence the amount of energy released which leads to modified electricity output.
I suspect that a nuclear plant can respond to the daily fluctuations in power supply being generated by solar and wind with much less of the start-up inefficiencies incurred by coal/gas plants. Nevertheless, since I am not a nuclear plant engineer, I am interested in informed comments about this.
Clearly, if nuclear is a more effective way of managing daily power surges than say battery storage, then this technology is favoured with consequential impact on nuclear plant retention and construction around the world and ipso facto on the demand for U3O8.
