Sorry, I don't get what you are saying. I like dividends because they are fully franked and in fact, theoretically depending on when you bought the dividend should reduce the price which lowers your Capital gain or increases your loss.

I understand the price is high but so is ARG and a few others so I look to underlying investments and essentially a sum of the parts. On that basis it's between 2% and 5% overvalued on the Share price yet I think people are buying the share for its qualities that were not recognised by the market - stable income base.

I said exactly what you said about ARG many years ago and sold only to never find a point to get in again although I must admit that right now it's pretty tempting - I think this premium which looks like 2.6% is pretty low although lots of potential CGT sitting in the valuation.

Before it wasn't possible to trade SOL as the volumes were not there recently the float has been better and it's been traded far more than usual which is great - we can only thank PPT for that their selling has increased the free float. Ironic that the thing they were complaining about the discount to valuation now seems to relate to free float and being in the important ASX indexes.

I do agree the volatility has increased but so has the price. I was always told, "be thankful for having to pay tax because if you don't your financial affairs are not good."
