    A growing clinical research base is proving neurofeedback is effective in calming the minds of children with autism. NTI has indicated positive preliminary results that Dr Ahmed Hankir of Bedforshire Centre for Mental Health Research in association with Cambridge University noted: “The Mente Autism device is one of the most exciting investigations this year…The changes observed in autistic children after a 12-week clinical trial is outstanding with many of the children scoring normal range after treatment”.

    That indicates Neurotechs ties to the Bedforshire Crlentre which has ties to the prestigious Cambridge University.

    More widely - neurofeedback is becoming increasingly accepted for its value. As indicated below;

    A neuroscientist named Uri Hasson at Princeton University conducted research on neuronal coupling - which is the ability for two different people to both have similar calming brainwave patterns when they are sharing a positive interaction with each other [1]. This occurs to those who are in love, a parent to child or between two friends and it consequently produces Neuropeptide Oxytocin. When a parent and child is in sync with each other neurologically the chemical it produces helps to cement a loving bond and increases social interaction.

    Research conducted by Hollander et al 2006 was able to prove that children with autism have low levels of Neuropeptide Oxytocin due to their inability to sync neurologically with their parent and those around them which has an impact on positive loving relationships and sociability. Hollander et al were also able to prove that by increasing Neuropeptide Oxytocin in children with autism it increased their sociability and positive relationships.[2]

    What we know currently from Neurofeedback is that it calms the minds of children by increasing Beta and Theta waves which allows for increased neurological connection with their parent or peer which consequently increases Neuropeptide Oxytocin thus improving sociability and calmness [3]

    If NTI can prove its Mente autism device can increase beta and theta waves in children with autism which allows for increased neurological connection between child, parent or peer - thus increasing Neuropeptide Oxytocin - NTI can prove that its medical device does have a positive effect and does calm the minds of children with autism and increases their social relationships.
