Mitsui's offer is "off-market" for 95 cents. It remains conditional on a few things still. As it is conditional, they cannot buy on market as you are suggesting. The increases in holdings are all via those shareholders, me included, who have accepted the bid.
In regards to the final date, this can also be extended if they wish. There are limitations on how many times it can be extended and when it can and cant be extended.
The large insto holders can accept via the Acceptance Facility, which indicates their preferred outcome, without it be binding at this point.
I believe that the bid will succeed at 95 cents.
