Quick look at RSI over the past 12 months..every time we hit heavily oversold we get a strong bounce and vice versa. RSI chart looks eearily similar to the SP chart! Assuming it will continue to do so until the fundamentals pick up and take us north for good.
While disappointed with the H1 results overall, after having time to digest the report and listen to CEO & CFO's conference I still feel very bullish about CAT long term.
Some reasons below:
Competitive advantage/wide moat:
Statsports are our #1 competitor by my understanding. At last check (not sure how up to date their website is?) but current teams on the books.
Statsports- 275
Catapult- 1,627
This is a huge difference...and even more telling is the fact that CAT have improved their overall product now and aren't just a wearables business as all their competitors are.
Is there any other company out there that can offer more than just GPS? They really are following through on their goal of owning the elite performance stack.
Prosumer:
Can't wait to see the release in the next qtr. Would love to know more about how they intend to price it? Subscription v capital??
I believe this market has massive potential and CAT are the only ones attacking this globally. Huge tick, especially if they can turn it into a strong ARR product.
Elite video/tactical:
The XOS acquisition has stunted overall growth and on face value has been disappointing. However, crystal balling into FY19-20 I believe this new product offering (Video with tactical) could revolutionize elite sports and be the type of product that teams HAVE to have to be seen to be at the cutting edge of sports tech. If they can nail this product and then internationalize it (FY19 I believe) this could really take off and be where our growth really starts to take off.
Management:
Have built a really strong team now, led by CEO Joe Powell who seems very switched on and understands the challenges and opportunities that CAT have before them.
Still think it'll be mid/late in FY19 and into FY20 before we really start seeing some of these products take off and become big revenue streams for CAT but I believe their plan is strong and they have the product and people to make it happen.
All IMO, please DYOR.
Cheers
